Fears are pretty common human experiences and can often help us in steering away from potential dangers. However, once fears have developed into phobias or we have many fears then they can be life changing. Often, making you feel frightened and on edge much of the time as well as experiencing feelings of being out of control.
The most common phobias reported are:
– Agoraphobia – fear of open spaces
– Arachnophobia – fear of spiders
– Claustrophobia – fear of confined spaces
– Social phobia – fear of social situations
Fears are created and retained in the subconscious part of our mind. Meaning that conscious thought alone is not enough to change the fear template. We have a very effective technique within hypnotherapy that has been shown to overcome fears and phobias. It was originally developed to help with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which it is still used for today. Over time it was recognised for its capabilities in changing subconscious templates.
This technique helps you to learn relaxation techniques to deal with general stress and creates a safe mental space for you to change the fear template whilst in guided trance. Then we will look to reframe the template and put in its place ideal thoughts, feelings and behaviours which will become your new positive subconscious template. This all takes place in a comfortable and relaxed setting under the guidance of trance.
Specific fears and phobias such as spiders, miscellaneous objects, animals, darkness etc. can be treated in just 3 sessions. Those with multiple fears and phobias, social phobias or PTSD require a longer length of sessions, generally between 8 – 12.
